UKZN OPEN DAY FOR PUPILS AND PARENTS

The annual University of KwaZulu-Natal Open Day is a chance for aspiring students, who are set to begin their tertiary studies, to explore what the provincial institutio­n can offer them and a chance for parents to see where and how their budding young adults will take the next big step in their lives.

From captivatin­g chemistry experiment­s to state-of-the-art drone showcases, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is inviting high school pupils and their families to immerse themselves in a world of discovery at the annual open day events on April 13, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Westville Campus Sports Centre and on April 20, from 9 am to 1 pm, at the Library Lawns on their Pietermari­tzburg Campus.

According to a statement released by the university, the event is designed to provide invaluable career guidance and insight into the university’s diverse degree programmes and support services.

“The open day promises an engaging and interactiv­e experience for all attendees who will explore our campuses, interact with passionate academic staff and uncover the wealth of opportunit­ies at UKZN. The event boasts a dynamic programme featuring inspiring talks from university leaders, informativ­e sessions on study options and financial aid and exciting demonstrat­ions showcasing UKZN’s commitment to excellence in teaching and research,” reads the statement.

Executive director for corporate relations at UKZN, Normah Zondo expressed her excitement for the upcoming open day.

“Our team is dedicated to ensuring a memorable and informativ­e experience for all attendees. We’re thrilled to open our doors and welcome prospectiv­e students and their families, guiding them through our vibrant campus life and empowering them to pursue their academic and personal goals.

“The event promises live entertainm­ent, delicious food and fun competitio­ns with exciting prizes up for grabs. Pupils and parents can follow the university’s social media pages for more updates.”
