Transport laws workshop
SA’s road traffic and transport legislation expert Alta Swanepoel and LexisNexis Road Traffic invite all transporters to register for any of three road traffic and transport legislation workshop being held during May.
The panel will address the National Road Traffic Act and Regulations, the freight logistics strategy and the draft amendments to the legislation.
The amendments to the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto) and NLTA Acts will also be discussed, as well as general road traffic and transport matters.
The panel includes Ronald Stuurman, executive manager of Regulatory Services, Cross-Border Road Transport Agency (CBRTA), who will explain government’s policy on developing an intelligent risk-based road safety tool for certifying and licensing compliant commercial cross-border road transport operators.
Stan Bezuidenhout, forensic collision homicide reconstructionist, will discuss the effects of non-compliance with the road traffic legislation and how it impacts on insurance contracts and ac dent claims. His recommendations who help fleet operators minimise the risk claim repudiations.
Max Braun, a consultant in transport logistics and contributor to Fleetwat magazine, will give his observation from the left lane, with the focus on ma aging the menace of speeding vehicle
Keith McMurray, an expert on the transport of dangerous goods, will provide an update on the latest developments in the transportation of dange ous goods and the grey areas in the leg lation and specifications and its impa on the industry.
