Jozini teacher dies at marking venue after chest pains
A TEACHER from uMkhanyakude Districtwho was among the matric markersstationed at Pietermaritzburg Girls’ HighSchool, died there after complaining ofchest pains.
Provincial Education Departmentspokesperson Muzi Mahlambi said the teacher from Biva Combined School inJozini died on Tuesday evening at theschool’s dining hall after complaining ofsevere chest pains.
“He complained of chest pains andwhile they tried attending to him hecollapsed.
“An ambulance was called out,but unfortunately he was declareddead at the scene.”
Mahlambi conveyed the department’scondolences to the teacher’sfamily.
The marking of Grade 12 exam scripts starts on Monday in all themarking centres across KwaZuluNatal.
“The teachers have moved intothe venues and all 27 marking venuesare ready,” said Mahlambi.
