A new look for Bat­tery Cen­tre in Mar­itzburg


SOUTH Africa’s most trusted bat­tery spe­cial­ists, Bat­tery Cen­tre, has un­veiled its new look, rev­o­lu­tion­is­ing the next step in the brand’s jour­ney.

The ex­ten­sive re­brand­ing is be­ing rolled out na­tion­wide, build­ing on the com­pany’s brand iden­tity and proud South African her­itage.

Since its in­cep­tion in 1969, Bat­tery Cen­tre has evolved into a fully-fledged bat­tery re­tail pow­er­house, fu­elling in­dus­tries with in­no­va­tive tech­nol­ogy and plac­ing the cus­tomer at the heart of the com­pany.

The first Bat­tery Cen­tre opened its doors in Bloem­fontein in 1969 to dis­trib­ute bat­ter­ies man­u­fac­tured by First Na­tional Bat­tery.

By adding Bat­tery Cen­tre to the fam­ily decades ago, First Na­tional Bat­tery cre­ated the first bat­tery re­tail pow­er­house on the con­ti­nent. The brand be­came so pop­u­lar it was fran­chised in 1976. To­day, there are 150 Bat­tery Cen­tres na­tion­wide.

“We have come a long way since we first opened our doors in Bloem­fontein nearly 50 years ago,” said An­drew Webb, mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor. “Be­ing the largest bat­tery fit­ment pow­er­house with more than 150 stores na­tion­wide, we needed our brand iden­tity to take us to the next level with­out de­tract­ing from our rich, iconic her­itage.”

The brand’s new look is no­tice­ably dif­fer­ent from com­peti­tors, in the same way that its val­ues are markedly dif­fer­ent from the in­dus­try in which it op­er­ates.
