VOTE SET ASIDE IN MTUBATUBA

The Witness - - NEWS -

RESULTS of the Mtubatuba ward four by-election have been set aside after the ANC won a related case.

The ANC had lodged a complaint with the Electoral Court before the May by-election, which was won by an IFP candidate.

The ANC had complained about the registration of more than 200 people from a nearby ward and other voters whose addresses could not be verified.

ANC provincial secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli said they were happy the Electoral Court ruled in their favour.

He said it was malpractice and fraudulent to tamper with the voters’ roll and registering voters in a ward where they do not legally reside.

“The ANC is happy that finally the IFP has been exposed...”

“We also call on the IEC to take legal action against the IFP, in this regard as they have clearly broken the law,” he said. — Witness Reporter.
