RAYUDU’S AC­TION TO BE TESTED

SYD­NEY In­dia’s part-time off-spin­ner Am­bati Rayudu has been re­ported for a sus­pect bowl­ing ac­tion dur­ing the first one-day in­ter­na­tional against Aus­tralia in Syd­ney, the In­ter­na­tional Cricket Coun­cil (ICC) said yes­ter­day.

Rayudu must now have his bowl­ing ac­tion tested within 14 days, but can con­tinue to bowl at the in­ter­na­tional level un­til the test re­sults are out. The se­ries re­sumes in Ade­laide to­mor­row with the fi­nal match in Mel­bourne next Fri­day.

Mean­while, all-rounder Vi­jay Shankar and bats­man Shub­man Gill will re­place the sus­pended KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in In­dia’s lim­ited overs team, the In­dian cricket board (BCCI) has said. Rahul and Pandya were sus­pended pend­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into com­ments they made about women on a TV show last week, which have been con­demned as sex­ist and in­ap­pro­pri­ate. — Reuters.
