True Love Hair

MIDDLE ground

- By LERATO SEUOE

Trends are not only about haircuts and styles. Something as simple as a hair parting can make your look pop. It’s the easiest to pull off. Here’s how.

HOW TO WEAR IT

The middle parting can be messy or precise if your hair is slick enough. Wear it with a high or low ponytail, or marry it with a pompadour by creating the parting and then teasing the crown for a vintage feel. Waves look cool with a middle parting as they create a soft frame around your face. For straight hair, curve your flat iron a little at the ends. If it’s short, do a simple parting and slide your hair behind the ears. You can also pin the hair with clips.

ALL TEXTURES WORK

Texture plays a major role in keeping the middle parting looking good. Most of the models on the runway have paired their middle parting with tousled tresses this season. You can wear a centre parting even with super-straight hair; just slip it in with any texture, be it tight coils or a slick style.

RUNWAY CRAZE

The S/S17 runway was filled with models rocking the centre parting. It’s a universal favourite as it has a way of softening your face and giving it definition. The side parting is also a popular trend this season. Whether it’s on a wig, weave or cornrows, try this straightforward look on yourself: you’re bound to be pleased with the results.
