True Love

Ed’s letter

-

As I finish reading the final chapter of our cover star So mizi Mhlongo’s book Dominoes: Unbreakable Spirit, I’m in awe of the life he’s lived. Being in the limelight appeared to be glamorous, but there were dark days behind closed doors. For those of us who grew up in the township, where there were more than 10 people in a four-room house, we can relate to his story of having to self-motivate and keep positive despite the tough environment. We strove to be different and kept chasing our dreams, no matter how out of the norm they were. We could be down and out, but we still appreciated the beauty around us. And that’s Somizi – he used all challenges as stepping stones to a better life. I truly believe that his book has a chapter everyone can relate to. As I close this chapter of my life and bid farewell to this wonderful brand, I’ve had the most amazing experience that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. I’ve met wonderful people – you, the TRUE LOVE reader, who’ve inspired me. Your support kept me going. I’ve had an amazing journey with you. I’ll never forget the love and the many cover ideas you suggested; Somizi is one of them! How can I forget all the celebs who willingly opened up their homes to TRUE LOVE, trusting us to handle their stories with care and sensitivity. From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who’s travelled this road with me, and my wonderful team of dedicated and hardworking individuals. I couldn’t have done this without you all. Till next time. Happy reading.
