“I entered the competition for a beauty makeover as a new makoti because I figured it would be a great way to celebrate this new chapter. I was pampered and got an amazing face beat from the True Love team,” says Zola.

MAKE-UP

“Zola has a few dark spots on her forehead, so I used a foundation with a little more coverage. Yardley’s Even Complexion Foundation has great coverage and isn’t heavy. I kept the eyes clean as dark colours would make her eyes look smaller than they already are. I highlighted her cheeks with a blush and finished the look with a sweet pink lipstick,” says make-up artist Khumo Ngwenya.

EXPERIENCE

“I felt brand new and motivated to look after myself. It’s important to move with the times. The creative team — from the make-up artist, stylist and the hairstylist — gave me useful advice,” says Zola. She continues: “The new hair was my highlight because I always wear my hair natural. I looked like a different person!” She also enjoyed the wardrobe makeover. “I lapped up the attention I got from everyone on set. I adored the clothing, especially the yellow dress – it’s my favourite look. I appreciated the camera flashes and compliments!”
