Pastor Pushie on being reserved for a heavenly purpose

Jesus and His disciples were travelling to Jerusalem. As they approached the town of Bethany, He sent two of His disciples to go ahead of Him and bring Him a donkey. This was an unusual request, considering they were almost there. He deliberately stopped His journey, and sent His disciples to get a donkey to carry Him into the city. He specifically asked for one that was tied, and had never been ridden before.

He chose a donkey that had no experience for what He needed. Why would you choose the least qualified – an amateur – to carry the King of kings? What if it dropped Him? And not only was it unqualified, but it was also tied up, meaning it would take time to work properly.

I’m quite certain that there were more suitable donkeys, but Jesus chose the least likely.

SOMETIMES, THE BEST CHOICE IS

NOT ALWAYS OBVIOUS

Jesus chose a tied up and unqualified donkey. I don’t know what has you stuck or trapped. Perhaps you’re tied up in your past, pain, failure, disappointment, sin, guilt, sickness or discontentment. But no matter the situation or how lost you feel, God still wants you. He says, “I want the one that no one else wants. I want the one they abandoned, cheated and walked out on. I want the one that’s been all tied up and neglected.” Let me tell you something, God’s not shocked by your condition. Heaven’s not surprised by your situation. Your mess doesn’t intimidate the angels. You might have been misused, unused or abused. But, when God comes along, you discover the reason why you were created.

GOD DOESN’T CALL THE

QUALIFIED, HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED

Suddenly you realise why all those other things that you once wanted badly didn’t work out. No matter what state you’re in, God sees you. He was specific about the donkey He wanted to use, and knew exactly where it was and what state it was in. And still, He chose it. You need to know you are chosen. God chooses the least likely to do the almighty. He will not go without you.

Jesus sent His disciples to untie the donkey. God is also sending divine helpers to you. I pray that today, the Lord will untie you from depression, abuse, stagnation, fear and failure. I rebuke the spirit of suicide over your life, in the name of Jesus. May everything that has you tied down, free you into your destiny. When the donkey was set loose, Jesus said, “Bring it to me.” May angels be sent on assignment to rescue you. May heaven commission people to locate and bless you. May breakthrough come to you. Jesus said, “If anyone asks, even the owner, why are you taking it, tell them the Lord has need of it.” God does not need anyone’s permission when He decides to use you. No man, past, mistake, sin or chain will be able to stop God from reaching you. God knows where to find you and when the time’s right. He will send for you to promote you into your purpose and into your destiny.

You’ve been thinking that you’re stuck, but what you don’t realise, is that you’re reserved. The reason they don’t use you is because God has reserved you for Himself. The donkey was not ridden, not because it was abandoned or rejected, but because it was reserved. What you call rejection, God calls reservation.

And then they laid their cloaks on the donkey; that’s anointing, protection and covering. And the donkey carried Jesus to His destiny. You’ve been reserved for a heavenly purpose. May the Lord anoint you, cover you, protect you, and use you to carry His glory to the ends of the earth. Amen. Love ya, P
