Ed’s Letter
Twelve months ago, I was afforded the opportunity to be the Editor of True Love magazine. Fourteen issues later (including TL Body and TL Food, both on shelf now), I can say 2018 has been the most challenging, yet rewarding year of my life. Not only did the job seem insurmountable, but I was also faced with the hardest challenge of leading a group with their own strengths and opinions.
This, by far, was the hardest part of the job. Things are not perfect, but I’ve learnt more about myself and the type of leader I want to be. I’d like to say thank you to the True Love team and the many people who contributed to growing the brand — for all the long hours and for your patience. I have the deepest respect for you and would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I’d also like to thank you, the reader (both old and new), for supporting the magazine through its many evolutions. I even had the honour of meeting some of you at our events this year. May our journey grow even further.
As we end the year, think back
to the goals you had set in the beginning, and pat yourself on the back. You may not have achieved all that you’d set out to, but you made it. Even the smallest victories have to be celebrated. Check out the Christmas spread our Food Editor Tumi MushiSebopa decked out for you and our fashion, beauty and gift guide to inspire you to spoil your loved ones. That said, please keep an eye on your little ones if you plan to spend time around water (p82) and we’ve got tips on how to indulge, but maintain your #SummerBody (p84). Have a fantastic break!
