WHAT’S POPPING? FASHION ED’S PICK OF THE MONTH

Norwegian fashion designer, Fredrik Tjaerandse­n, unveiled his memorable rubber dresses at the London Fashion Week. The dresses made social media history, and made us view fashion from a different perspectiv­e. Each dress needed five metres of rubber to create – some balloons deflated into dresses. “I was inspired by my own early childhood memories. I wanted to recreate the fogginess and the ‘mist' of the memories themselves,” he told Vogue UK.

H&M TEAMS UP WITH ARTIST NATHALIE LÉTÉ

H&M introduces a new childrensw­ear collection with animal and floral motifs, created by French artist Nathalie Lété. The range includes a wide variety of vibrant tees, jackets, jeans, dresses, jumpsuits, shorts and swimsuits. All Lété's designs start with paintings done by hand in acrylics, which are then artfully arranged to create an imaginativ­e and fun story. For this H&M collabo, the artist brought to life a tropical jungle. “In my work, I create a fantasy land for myself. A land that I want to share with other people to make them dream. It´s all about flowers, animals, birds, naivety and colours. I want to create a cocoon that brings happiness and harmony all around," she says. The collection will be available in South Africa from 26 August.
