Cornrows are taking over the hair scene!
Cornrows are the quintessential black girl hairstyle, and have gone through many updates. Popular as they are, they do require great care and maintenance because dandruff, dryness and shedding can spoil the look. And, if your cornrows are too tight, kept for too long or your scalp is not hydrated regularly, the style can wear out quicker. Hair braiding expert Nikiwe Dlova, who has done intricate and detailed cornrow styles on celebs such as musician Msaki and influencer Amonge Sinxoto, says, “Cornrows are great when you’ve just done them, but can easily lose their lustre. I always advise my clients to use a braid spray to moisturise the scalp, as well as a hi-sheen spray to give the hair extensions a healthy glow.”
