True Love

Ed’s Letter

Spring Day (1 September) has always been a thing for me since I was young. I would meticulously plan my outfit for the day – making sure that I looked like a new season has arrived. The tradition continued throughout school right until I started working. My look for spring/summer is dictated by the very day and to make sure I’m on trend, I scour through the spring/summer issues of international magazines (which are a season ahead of us).

We’ve made it super simple for you — you don’t have to Google or buy previous copies! Our fashion and beauty editors have selected the key style and beauty trends for you to rock this coming season — from popping lip and eyeshadow colours to OTT ponytails, standout nails, prints and silhouettes. You literally have no excuse to not look good. Talking about beauty, our ‘Celebrating Life’ feature honours four women who make beautiful items – from fashion to interior design. They give us one more reason to shop local.

With the warmer season, we’re encouraged to eat lighter and entertain outdoors. Check out the creative salads that our food editor has put together – from sweet and savoury combos to the addition of fruits. Salads don’t have to be boring because anything you have in the fridge goes. Talking about eating, our sex feature delves into how weight gain can often affect your sex game. Some of our readers share how they shed a few kilos and got their groove back in bed. It’s a definite must-read!

While we’re still talking relationships, our finance feature on sexually transmitted debt really got tongues wagging at the TRUE LOVE HQ. Basically, you have a sexually transmitted debt if you’ve sacrificed a lot or gone out on a limb to make your partner happy — from getting a loan to supplementing his income or straight up borrowing your partner money that never comes back. I have definitely been guilty of that, where you throw caution to the wind to please your partner, all to your financial detriment. It’s time to spring-clean your love life and start afresh!
