Which town did you enjoy? I recently visited Kigali in Rwanda. I fell in love with the people, landscape and its story. It’s vibrant and underrated as a travel destination.
Why is it the best city to find yourself ? The women are independent and fierce in everything they do. Kigali will make you question yourself. It made me realise the true beauty of forgiveness, the essence of freedom and the sheer beauty of a new dawn. People find freedom in music, art and tourism.

This economist lets us in on how her random solo drive was great for letting go of some childhood anxieties. Which town did you enjoy? In March 2017, I got into my car, with no real plan, but just the desire to explore the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga. I chose to be more in tune with my “sense of adventure” instead and ended up at Crystal Springs Mountain Lodge; which is stationed on a mountain reserve close to Pilgrim’s Rest.
Why is it the best city to find yourself? My trip taught me how far we have come and how far we can still go, and it satisfied the nature lover in me. Why did you choose to visit the town? My passions are wide and diverse, and the Sabie-Pilgrim’s Rest Graskop area is rich in history and significant heritage.

Originally from Ngqamakhwe (Eastern Cape), this mechanical engineer decided to see Bali as her farewell to her 20s. Which town did you enjoy? Out of all the places I visited in Bali, Seminyak was my favourite destination; it has all the tourist attractions under one radar. Why did you choose to visit the town? I planned the trip to celebrate my 29th birthday. Bali made me realise things don’t need to be perfect for you to be happy.
Why is it the best city to find yourself? Seminyak was exactly what I needed to rediscover myself. It allowed me to relax and take things as they come, plus it has high-end shopping and restaurants. That’s all I needed.

‘The Gal With A Fro’ as she calls herself on social media is a content creator originally from Polokwane, who found a hidden gem in the Western Cape. Which town did you enjoy? Kalk Bay is a little gem on the coastline of False Bay, that’s every content creator’s dream small town.
Why is it the best city to find yourself? It’s quiet enough to be able to get away and relax but filled with enough quirky and interesting things to do to really enjoy being in a little town by the seaside. And the views are picturesque! Why did you choose to visit the town? It had everything we needed, restaurants, entertainment, a market and beach views. The Cape to Cuba restaurant has a sandy beach, palm trees and a swing in the bar. It’s great for lunch or sundowners!
