So, she wrote a letter to her fans. Below, are parts of it:

“My name is Jojo Abot, and I am a daughter of the African soil; an interdisciplinary artist exploring themes of spirituality, identity and community evolution across mediums. Though not easy, and something that requires an abundance of faith in the unseen, I have been blessed to be led by intuition as well as the silent whispers of my ancestors and universe. At a time when the world seems to be consumed with fear, I seek greater intimacy with the frequency of love as I am challenged with revisiting my own motivations and intentions as an artist. I am challenged with truly honouring the people who invest their time consuming my creations. I am being held accountable in giving back to a community that has supported me and my craft for so long. This is the time for us to put our money where our mouth is. To truly step up and manifest a new reality. To use our voices as tools for healing! As our ability to gather in the community is being threatened; as intimacy becomes a rare gift; as touch becomes more deadly, we must

find ways to hold on to the values that matter to us most. This is the time to explore our ways of old with farming, architecture, science, vocational skills and other forms of social-cultural practices that allowed us to live in harmony with the land and one another. Now is the time to learn healing practices of our forefathers that nourished the land and them. Now is the time to go inward, activating our sacred superpowers; to evolve. So, I send you abundant love, healing and strength. May we not cower; may we not faint. May the people gather, and may they know their strength. Power to the God within!” Love, Jojo Abot
