Whether you have your hair in a ponytail or braids, smooth edges are a must. Taking care of your edges is almost like a first commandment for black women, beyond knowing how to tame them. You can swirl or wave them, however, finding the right gel to keep them smooth and intact can be a struggle. And even though edges look great, laying edges can cause product build-up, flakes and breakage over time. It’s often a side effect of using too much gel. There are ways to get those smooth edges while still protecting your hair.
