Get Luscious Lashes

Forget about the barely-there mascara look that’s been around this past season, and opt for the extrafluttery look. You won’t even need eyeshadow because, your lashes will be turning heads

TRY A SERUM

Eyelash serum nourishes and helps your lashes to grow even better, making them stronger. It also helps lengthen your existing lashes and adds a little bit of shine for a fuller look.

A POP OF COLOUR

Black mascara might be everyone’s go-to colour, but there are other colours out there worth trying. Try a swipe of a rich brown shade for an understated look and more volume. If you want to stand out, go for a blue shade. Blue works best with minimal eye make-up for a softer look, or you can go all the way by pairing it with a smoky eye.

FAKE IT

False lashes have come a long way and they are here to stay. Wear the volume falsies during the day and opt for the bold, dramatic type in the evening. False lashes provide muchneeded definition without the clumps and flaking you can sometimes get from a mascara. Choose lashes that follow the shape and size of your eyes, and don’t be shy to trim your falsies if they are too long, so that you can get a perfect match.

GET THE RIGHT BRUSH FOR YOUR LASHES

Everyone’s lashes are different, and that’s why there are various types of mascara brushes. Fine lashes work well with voluminous bristle brushes, and a skinny brush works well with shorter lashes for definition. Layer your mascara with a primer, and the maximising power of your mascara will be highlighted.

PROFESSIONAL TOUCH

If mascara can’t give you what you want, try the professional lash lift. A lash lift is like a perm for your lashes: it’s a semipermanent treatment that gives your lashes a youthful feel for up to six weeks. Most beauty salons and brow bars offer the lash-lift treatment; the cost is from R500.
