A kiss-a-thon in Horizon Deep has tongues wagging and fists flying when four unlikely couples pucker up.
It’s valentine’s day in horizon deep and the younger crowd’s on a mission to make it a fun one. leading that mission is the enterprising s’khumbuzo (sisa hewana), who’s come up with an exciting v-day event: a kiss-a-thon! but we don’t think that he could ever have imagined the drama that would come from it. s’khumbuzo’s about to learn that a kiss is never “just a kiss”…
with the day of romance around the corner, s’khumbuzo asks lerato (tema sebopedi) on thursday 5 february to help him organise the most sizzling deep event of the year. however, lerato’s not in the most romantic of moods since her ex sechaba (motlatsi mafatshe) has been giving her the cold shoulder in recent weeks. but she ends up helping s’khu despite her anti-cupid mood.
keeping it classy
soon everyone’s talking about the kiss-athon – it even has the sibekos intrigued. but one sibeko member wants to do a bit more than just talking and on tuesday 10 february, nikiwe (linda sokhulu) tells katlego (kgomotso christopher) that she wants to take part in the snogfest. katlego’s horrified at the thought that a sibeko will be sharing spit with the deep’s common folk, but nikiwe sees it as the ideal opportunity to reach out to the community and socialise on their level.
the big day arrives on friday 13 feb- ruary and the mining town is buzzing with excitement. however, nikiwe’s now getting cold feet as she questions the possibility of this publicity stunt blowing up in her face. regardless, she goes ahead with her plan to smooch a fellow horizon deeper and it’s not long before several residents are locking lips. but there are a couple of kisses that will have the town gossiping for days to come…

Snog scale: 9/10 lips What’s the big deal? after months of avoiding each other, horizon deep’s favourite couple finally get back together – sort of. while the kiss starts off a bit clumsy, it isn’t long before the two give it their all. clearly lerato and sechaba still have unresolved feelings for each other. but it’s going to take a lot more than a quick peck or two to bring these two back together…

Snog scale: 6/10 lips What’s the big deal? business and pleasure never mix well, so when nikiwe and brad (izak davel) share a smooch, it’s awkward to say the least. not only is nikiwe a respectable sibeko giving a 20-something a kiss in public, but that 20-something is also the nephew of sibeko gold’s nemesis barker haines (robert whitehead).
