The bachelor

-

last year’s bachelor juan pablo galavis was criticised for being rude and insincere, but this year’s heartthrob singleton is a total softie. from his dopey grin to his puppydog eyes, 33-year-old farmer chris soules is already a favourite among fans of the bachelor (2002-current).

chris grew up on a grain farm in arlington, iowa where he learnt to drive a tractor long before he got behind the wheel of a car. when chris was a teenager, he got into a bit of trouble with the law. his list of misdemeanours include being pulled over for a dui, possession of alcohol as a minor and fighting. since then, he’s cleaned up his act and has grown his family’s farming business to be a success. when he’s not farming, chris is also a real-estate mogul. that makes him quite the catch. not only is he handsome, but he’s a millionaire too. the 1.85m-tall blue-eyed bachelor loves american football, camping and country music. chris doesn’t have any kids yet, but he’s said that he wants a big family with at least four to six children. before appearing on sister show the bachelorette in 2014, chris was planning to get married but broke off the engagement just a few months before the wedding. “while my relationship with my fiancée was good, i didn’t want to settle for good. i wanted great,” chris explains. fellow bachelorette contestant and personal trainer cody sattler, who competed against chris for andi dorfman’s heart, trained chris into top shape for this season of the bachelor. chris describes his dream woman as smart, motivated and confident. “oh, and she will need to know or learn how to drive a tractor,” he laughs.
