Cheaters never prosper
Turf High’s students are furious that their matric dance has been canned – because someone cheated on their exams!
If you were looking forward to more matric dance shenanigans after last year’s dance – where schoolgirl Rachel (Lesego Marakalla) lost her virginity to Kwaito (Clement Maosa) and Mapitsi and Tbose (Mogau Mothlatswi and Cornet Mamabolo) almost made another baby – prepare to be disappointed. And that’s because Skeem Saam’s matrics aren’t getting a farewell dance this year. On Friday 27 November, Principal Thobakgale (Elizabeth Serunye) breaks the bad news to the students, telling them that it’s because someone cheated on their final exams. But who’s the culprit? the real cheater is revealed on Wednesday 2 December – her BFF Rachel. “She attacks Rachel verbally and she’s ready to believe it because of Rachel’s recent stunts, including her sugardaddy situation,” says Mulalo. “In the beginning, Rachel tries to defend herself but she ends up giving up.” And it’s not just Rachel who gets into trouble, but the two teachers invigilating the exam in question too: Meneer Manaka (Skhumbuzo Mbatha) and Alfred (Putla Sehlapelo), who’s also Rachel mom’s boyfriend and babydaddy. They’re both suspended and are under investigation. Tbose is about to break yet another heart as Enhle takes extreme measures to find out what he’s hiding from her. Kamo gets a date and lies about who asked who to the matric dance, but then bad news hits Turf High and Principal Thobakgale may have a riot on her hands. Sonti and Mapitsi, who’re both under pressure, start to turn on each other, and Tbose is backed into a corner, where the truth comes out. Wallet takes the law into his own hands, and Principal Thobakgale is coming apart at the seams as chaos tears apart the school. Ayanda makes a special meal for Emkay but her world takes an unexpected and thrilling turn. Meanwhile, Rachel’s a major suspect in a very serious situation that could ruin her life, and Enhle drops a bombshell on Tbose.
