David and Thandeka scheme to have Solomon jailed, but she quickly switches loyalties when she discovers a shocking secret.
In a series of events veiled in secrecy, Wednesday 23 December sees Thandeka (Hlubi Mboya) teaming with her lover David (Jamie Bartlett) against family friend-turned-foe Solomon (Seputla Sebogodi). The plan? Get Solomon arrested and keep Thandeka’s uncle Doc (Dumisani Mbebe) out of harm’s way, as well as keeping Solomon out of Red Records’ business. But Thandeka realises that she’s been sleeping with the enemy when Solomon reveals that her partner in crime tried to have her beloved Doc killed…
CUFF ’N GO
“At this stage, Thandeka doesn’t know who to love or trust,” says Hlubi. “When David suggests telling the police about Solomon murdering Kenny Gunman (Jody Abrahams) in October, she’s keen to have him behind bars and agrees.” On Thursday 24 December, David’s henchman Jimmy (James Cunningham) visits the cops and returns with good news – they’re on their way to arrest Solomon. But Thandeka is worried that Solomon will catch on when the police take their time making the arrest. “She’s nervous about the whole thing because she knows that Solomon isn’t a man you easily cross,” Hlubi says.
FEAR OF RETALIATION
Solomon’s arrested later that day, but Thandeka worries that he’ll strike back from behind bars. She visits him on Wednesday 30 December despite her worries, only to get disturbing info. “When Solomon tells her that David tried to have Doc killed while he was in hospital on Tuesday 22 December, she’s upset and immediately turns on David,” Hlubi reveals. But why cut ties when you can get even? “She and David are in a relationship she considers true love, but she knows what she has to do…”
FROM FRIEND TO FOE
Thandeka’s discomfort around David on Thursday 31 December is cleverly hidden and on Friday 1 January, she gets the info that she needs from him for a spectacular revenge plot. “David gives her all his security codes for his offshore accounts,” says Hlubi. This allows Thandeka to access incriminating information about her lover, who’s just declared his love for her on Tuesday 5 January. “Having convinced him of her loyalty, Thandeka continues her plan to take him down,” Hlubi adds.
