Zola proposes to married Karabo

Zola pops the question to a torn Karabo (again), but wait until her husband finds out.

-

After being held at gunpoint in a fit of rage by his ex-fiancée’s husband while in bed with her in October last year, one wouldn’t expect to see Zola (Mutodi Neshehe) back in bed with Karabo (Connie Ferguson) again, let alone proposing to her for the second time. But Zola’s ready to risk it all, including a bullet from Tau (Rapulana Seiphemo), to be with his soulmate. “Half his life, Zola has loved Karabo. He sees a chance to claim the love of his life. The stars might not ever line up for them to find love and happiness again,” says Mutodi.

MAKING IT OFFICIAL

When Zola told his ladylove that he wants to come clean about their affair on Tuesday 5 January, Karabo had no idea what was coming next. “Zola’s always been a man of integrity but his heart got the best of him. He genuinely loves this woman,” Mutodi explains. “Being a woman who respects culture and tradition, Karabo feels the obligation to please everybody and do the right thing.” That means turning down Zola’s marriage proposal on Friday 8 January. “She loves the man but has her beliefs and traditions to deal with,” he says about Karabo rejecting his proposal.

…OR NOT

“Nothing is more awkward than knowing what you want but the timing is just so contradictory to what you believe,” says Mutodi about the state of Zola and Karabo’s relationship following his proposal. But the very next day, Monday 11 January, sees Karabo being caught out by Tau who finds cufflinks in the bedroom that don’t belong to him and he realises that something’s up. On Wednesday 13 January, Karabo confirms that she’s indeed in a relationship with Zola and this time it’s Tau who wants to end things, which isn’t what either of the lovers expected. “Zola’s nervous because Tau has a history of violence and he fears losing Karabo to her husband’s wrath,” he says.

But it appears that the real drama is about to happen within the Moroka household when Karabo reveals the divorce plans to the family on Friday 15 January. The elders aren’t happy with Tau until he tells them about his wife’s indiscretion on Tuesday 19 January…
