FEBRUARY: BEHIND BARS
Thandaza’s alive and well at the religious camp, but things back home aren’t good: Vusi’s in jail, forensic results on murdered Imani’s (Zonke Nchunu) case are in, and Ranthumeng and Ndalamo are feuding. Meanwhile in Thathe, Muvhango’s sick and Chief Azwindini must find a way to heal his son. There’s a problem though: Azwindini must find a rare ingredient to cure Muvhango! In Joburg, Nonny falls head over heels for the dashing Pule (Zwelethu Nkutsho), who returns to help his friend James with his business troubles. Rendani is conflicted about her feelings for her distant lover Lwazi (Luzuko Nteleko) and a new friend. Later, Vusi’s arrest becomes front-page news, which is bad for Basadi’s already deflated image, and things get tough in the workplace for Sthembiso, who’s working at MMC.
MARCH: THE WALKING DEAD
The police investigating Thandaza’s whereabouts make a crucial discovery and find interesting facts about Imani’s murderer. We see Thandaza volunteer for a cleansing ceremony and later her memory returns. Yet another family member is interrogated at Thandaza and Ranthu’s house, but this person has a shady past. In Thathe, more people are seeing shadows and zombies that resemble Azwindini’s father Mashudu, but nobody can decipher what message Mashudu’s trying to get across. Nenzhelele’s trying to build friendships that will help him secure power in Thathe, and Azwindini considers making a decision that will affect his family. Later, things are falling apart for Matshidiso and some of her secrets, lies and notorious schemes start falling out of her closet. Nonny gets entangled with a married man, while Lerumo throws in the towel after learn-ing that he has financial problems.
APRIL: POWER PLAYS & POLITICS
Matshidiso’s paternity swap to get Carol (Phuti Khomo) back for blackmailing her has dire consequences for both Matshidiso and Dr Nthabeleng, but the person facing the most backlash is Dr Nthabeleng, who could lose her medical licence. Meanwhile, light is shed on Imani’s murder and the killer is finally identified, the truth is revealed and the outcome of a case might tear one family apart. Will Thandaza finally be able to come home to her family or will they dismiss her? In Thathe, there’s a new uprising of power and this time it’s all about politics. It’s the local elections in Thathe and Mulalo isn’t too confident that his people will vote for him and give him a chance at a second term.
