Grant Show has made a career out of playing good guys. Before current role as nice-guy soap star Spence Westmore in dramedy Devious Maids (2013-current), he was loveable Jake Hanson on drama series Melrose Place (1992-1997) and says Grant, “If you’re going to be good, you’re going to be very good. If you’re bad, you’re going to be very, very bad. So I had to make a choice.”
The 54-year-old graduated with 1
a degree in theatre arts from the University Of California Los Angeles in 1975. He was already acting by then, playing cop Rick Hyde in soapie Ryan’s Hope (1975-1989). Grant was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1986 and 1987 for the role but didn’t win either. He returned to the US in 1988 after a year of studying at the London Academy Of Music And Dramatic Arts.
He married Scottish actress Polly2
anna McIntosh (Angel in crime series Hap And Leonard, 2016-current) in 2004, a year after they met during a photoshoot. They divorced in 2011, citing the standard Hollywood reason of “irreconcilable differences”.
Grant got hitched again, in 2014 3
to actress and former ballerina Katherine LaNasa (Lizzie Ambrose in drama series Longmire, 2012-current). They live in LA with their two-year-old daughter Eloise McCue.
So what does he do between 4
seasons of Devious Maids? Grant plays golf and goes fishing, as well as taking his 1968 Ford Mustang convertible out – he’s had it since school.
He also owns a pub restaurant in 5
LA called The Happy Ending. It’s been open since 1997 and is famous for themed party nights, karaoke parties and hosting parties for sports events.
