An innocent attempt at friendship becomes a troublesome alliance as Rachel and Emkay (Lesego Marakalla and Mlungisi Mathe) join forces in the name of revenge. The pair are dynamite when it comes to scheming, so Tbose and Kwaito (Cornet Mamabolo and Clement Maosa) should be terrified now that their two biggest enemies are working as one!

SHAKE ON IT

As his court case approaches, Emkay is desperate for any way to avoid jail time for his friend Jama’s (Oros Mampofu) alcohol poisoning and death in July 2016. But when he feels that his exgirlfriend Ayanda (Pretty Ncayiyana) has betrayed him by declining to be a character witness in court on Wednesday 12 October, he turns to Rachel with his issues and she’s happy to share his many woes. “At first, their friendship resulted from not having any friends, but as they discuss their problems and issues with Tbose and Kwaito, Rachel gets an idea,” reveals Lesego.

TWO AGAINST TWO

On Friday 14 October, Rachel volunteers two interesting pieces of info – first about Kwaito and Tbose’s murder charge for running over her dad in 2011, and then something that could swing the odds in Emkay’s favour. “She tells Emkay that she heard Ayanda telling roommate Enhle (Natasha Thahane) that it was Tbose and Kwaito who went partying with Jama and encouraged his lifestyle and overindulgent behaviour,” says Lesego. As worried friends Tbose and Kwaito scramble to avoid jail after being made aware of the revelation, they seek legal counsel on Monday 17 October and realise that the case could go either way. And with their criminal records, they need to worry!

BEWARE

But Emkay isn’t off the hook just yet and the pressure takes its toll on him on Tuesday 18 October. “His former friends are all testifying against him in court,” says Mlungisi. “To be honest, he is more afraid of them than they are of him, despite the information that he can use against them.” But on Monday 24 October, when forced into a corner, Emkay reveals that he’ll use the information to protect himself and it dawns on Kwaito and Tbose just how powerful Emkay is with Rachel by his side. Let the mudslinging begin!
