Isaac’s out for blood but someone’s keeping tabs on him…

Aspiring athlete Isaac (Sipho Nkuna) has a lot to prove after his drug tests came back positive on Tuesday 13 December. “Isaac believes that he was framed by trainer Greg (Jacques Bessenger) and rival runner Mack (Tshepo Ramasia),” says Sipho. “Isaac is determined to get his revenge!”

SET THE RECORD

His plan unfolds on Monday 26 December when Isaac speaks to a journalist [who’s never shown onscreen] and says Sipho, “Isaac is determined to defame Greg and Mack.” He’s been suspended from training at the ASA and his plans fall apart when the journalist tells him that he’s “an unreliable source” and that Isaac’s info “can’t be trusted”.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Frustrated, Isaac breaks into Greg’s house to find evidence on Monday 26 December. Before going ahead with his plans though, Isaac phones his fake girlfriend Eshe (Swankie Mafoko), who’s going to marry him so that he can stay in SA, to tell her about his plans. “Eshe is an ex-cop and she’s furious that Isaac spoke to the media as it could compromise their own investigation,” says Sipho. “She thinks that Isaac shouldn’t have reached out to anybody and that he should be more strategic with info.” After their heated conversation, Eshe demands that Isaac meet her later that day but he doesn’t show up. Worried, Eshe confides in ASA manager Botho (Moliehli Makobane) about Botho’s plans and Botho starts a search.

MAN DOWN

Isaac’s fury at being framed for doping is going to land him in harm’s way. But the search is in vain. On Tuesday 27 December, ASA boss Justice (Saint Seseli) reveals that Isaac’s body was found by Justice’s youngest daughter Ashanti (Shalima Mkongo). “It’s terrible news, especially for Justice, who’s determined to find out who murdered his athlete,” says Sipho. It turns out that Greg and Mack are genuinely shocked by the news and Greg accuses Mack of murder, thinking that greed and desire to be the best athlete in ASA got the better of Mack. Ashanti overhears the pair’s fight on Tuesday 27 December, flinging accusations, and she decides to use it as blackmail – and she has no issues pointing that out to them either…
