Drive to the death

Innocentia’s not that innocent – she’d kill to get MaNgcobo out of her husband’s life. Uzalo Mon-Wed SABC1 (*191) 20:30

Innocentia (Sthandwa Nzuza) moved to KwaMashu expecting to be the new society queen. Instead, her shady hubby Nkunzi (Masoja Msiza) brought another woman into their house on Tuesday 21 March. And that woman, Lindiwe “MaNgcobo” Xulu (Dawn Thandeka King) isn’t just their house’s previous owner, she’s a murderer and an escaped mental patient. Nkunzi reacts with rage whenever anyone says a word against MaNgobo and he warned Innocentia to keep her hands off Lindiwe… not that he’s obeying his own order! “Innocentia knows that if MaNgcobo keeps hanging with her husband, she may lose him to her in a flash. She needs to act fast before it’s too late,” says Sthandwa.

MUTI MUDDLE

When Innocentia’s efforts to subtly kick MaNgcobo out of the nest fail, she turns to witchdocter Magwaza (Lwazi Mabizela) for muti. And on Friday 14 April, a terrible nightmare begins… but not for MaNgcobo. Magwaza’s got his wires crossed and instead of MaNgcobo feeling the heat, it’s poor MaMlambo (Hlengiwe – played by Gugu Gumede). Out of options on Wednesday 19 April, an exasperated Innocentia invites MaNgcobo on a little game drive… from which only one of them will return.

GIRLS GONE WILD

“When she invites MaNgcobo on this special trip, she thinks that she’s got everything planned. Innocentia’s hoping to feed her rival to the lions and leave her dead at the lodge,” reveals Sthandwa. As if it’s that easy to destroy MaNgcobo! “They drive up to the mountain and Innocentia ends up pointing a gun at MaNgcobo, but she gets distracted by her phone, giving MaNgcobo a second to pull her pepperspray from her bag.” MaNgcobo whips the gun from Innocentia’s hand, knocks her unconscious, locks her in the car and shoves it over the cliff on Thursday 20 April. “Those scenes with Dawn were epic and entertaining,” says Sthandwa. But as MaNgcobo finds out on Tuesday 25 April, she may have underestimated her rival too. “It’s not the last you’ll see of Innocentia. There’s much more to come,” hints Sthandwa.
