Mrekza and Lucy keep their romance on the down-low.
Township bad-guy Mrekza (Kope Magae) is upset when his boss Lucy (Manaka Ranaka) ignores his calls on Thursday 27 April. He knows that it’s probably because she’s being careful not to reveal anything about their new romance to her meddling mom Gog’Flo (Ivy Nkutha) and brother Cosmo (Ronnie Diale), who don’t like or trust Mrezka one bit. But Lucy does – she fell for him after he played her knight in shining armour when she was desperate and dateless for the Businesswoman Of The Year Awards on Friday 7 April. “And their romance developed from there. Lucy helped him pay his debts in exchange for him escorting her to the event – which is where the chemistry between them became clear,” says Kope.
HIDDEN AFFAIR
Lucy panics on Friday 28 April when she learns about Gog’Flo’s poor health and “Mrekza is mindful of the situation,” says Kope. He realises that now is a really bad time to go public with their romance, “So he sympathises with Lucy and uses his street smarts to hide their relationship.” But Cosmo, who co-owns the Diale family fast-food restaurant isn’t coping with the stress of his mom’s illness and he takes out his frustrations on the restaurant staff later on Monday 1 May. Equipment and ingredients have been disappearing from the restaurant for a while and in his anger, Cosmo insinuates that the waiters are the thieves. But behind the scenes, it’s a different story…
CAUGHT UP
Cosmo suspects that his restaurant manager Mrekza is the culprit and when Lucy finds out, she has no choice but to defend him. She knows another side of Mrekza and she’s convinced that he wouldn’t destroy her business. Lucy plucks up the courage and protects him on Friday 5 May without letting their secret slip. But on Tuesday 9 May, Gog’Flo spots the two lovebirds together and realises what’s going on. She is disappointed and immediately also breaks the news to Cosmo, who’s “furious,” Kope explains. “Cosmo isn’t pleased with the idea of his employees dating his sister and he wants to destroy their relationship.” Cosmo’s plans to fire Mrekza just bring the two lovers closer, “But there are more ups and downs ahead,” warns Kope…
