Remember Dr Wolin (Mark D Espinoza), the urologist who told Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) back in October 2015 that his vasectomy was irreversible? He’s lost his job and he’s out to make a sleazy quick buck. On Tuesday 18 April he pointedly congratulated Ridge on baby Douglas’s (Abigail and Brielle Rivera) birth and on Monday 8 May, he oozes up to Ridge’s babymama Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) at the restaurant and congratulates her too. Fellow diner Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is quick to catch the whiff of scandal as Ridge discretely tries to warn Dr Wolin to stay away from Caroline. Once Ridge has stalked off, Katie plops down beside Dr Wolin and the gossip is good as Dr Wolin directly tells her that Ridge isn’t Douglas’s daddy. But if you’re settling in for a juicy blackmail drama, don’t get too comfortable.

Dr Wolin makes his first demand of Ridge for $100 000 (over R1.5 million) on Tuesday 8 May, only for Bold’s writers to send a speeding truck towards the dodgy doc. As far as Ridge knows, the resulting deathsplat frees him from any obligation to tells his son Thomas (Pierson Fodé) that he – Thomas – is Douglas’s biological father. Ridge has no idea that both Logan sisters are in on his secret – and all it will take is one slip from Katie’s drunken lips to blow it sky-high. Thorsten reveals that Ridge and Katie’s past is going to come back to bite him here. “She’s a loose cannon. She’s also a woman scorned. They were planning a life together once and then everything just fell apart. There’s a lot of tension between them and her accusations are not making things easier,” he says. NB! See more on p26.
