Hands in the air

-

“It’s awesome! It’s like every script we get, we’re flipping cars or there is some crazy action going down on the streets!” squeals Jesse Lee Soffer as season 2 of cop show Chicago PD (2014- current) kicks off on free TV. Not that a couple of bumps Sergeant Voight (centre) and his fellow cops are going to be busy this season. and bruises will scare of self- confessed adrenaline junkie Jesse or his character Detective Jay Halstead, who’s a former Army Ranger. “There is some of the personal drama coming through,” Jesse adds. “The fans love that type of thing, the relationships. And this season they are hoping for more than just ‘work’ between Halstead and Lindsay [Sophia Bush]. So maybe there will be…”

ACTION ATTRACTIONS

1 Intelligence Unit top cop Voight (Jason Beghe) starts the season being framed by Internal Affairs for murder. The dead guy was working for IA and Voight and his team were meant to stay far away.

2 Halstead is put into protective custody in episode 2 (6 June) and he’s not impressed. He would rather be out on the streets finding the guys who tried to shoot him while he was knocking back a few at a bar.

3 Episode 7 (11 July) is a cross- over episode with Law & Order: SVU (1999- current) and Chicago Fire (2012current) as the three units team up to stop a paedophile ring in town.

4 Fans are getting what they asked for in episode 12 (15 August) – Halstead has the hots for Lindsay, but first there’s a double murder to solve.

5 And Halstead has his hands full in episodes 18 and 22 (26 Sept and 24 Oct) when his brother lies to him about a visit and Lindsay starts abusing booze and prescription pills.
