Falling Water

-

Season 1 M-Net (*101) 00:00 Sci-fi

The only explanation for people sharing a dream is something paranormal. And that’s what is going on in season 1 of sci-fi show Falling Water (2016-current), when three strangers dreams parts of the same dream. Episode 1 starts with a voice warning viewers that “there is a war going on, a war for control of our dreams”. And the warning isn’t over: “Now you can believe me or not, but what if your dreams are trying to tell you something? What if they’re trying to tell you your life is at stake?”

Tess (Lizzie Brocheré, Claudine in period drama Versailles, 2015-current ) is a trend analyst who reads consumers’ aspirations. But she starts doubting her skills (and sanity) when she dreams that she has a son and thinks that it’s not a dream. Tech billionaire Bill Boerg (Zak Orth) believes Tess and wants to help her, but she has to take part in his research. Burton (David Ajala) is the security boss at financial institution The Firm and is also having “the dream”. his part features the mysterious “Woman In Red”, who helps him when he’s run down in a car accident. Filming two different storylines isn’t as tricky as you’d think, says David. “We have a continuity lady on the set who’s wonderful. She helps us with transitioning from the real to the dream world.” And third is detective Taka (Will Yun Lee, Sang Min in action series Hawaii Five- 0, 2010-current). He’s caring for his comatose mom in real life but dreams about an old lady in the road. How are they linked? “It’s a mystery that encourages dreaming and to embrace that world,” teases Will.
