Sophia Bush has found a rough-andtumble home on action show Chicago PD (2014-current). The 35-year-old plays Detective Erin Lindsay and says that “I am ready to go! I love boxing – there’s something fierce and primal about using your body’s force that way. I also jump out of airplanes for fun and race cars – and I have three pitbulls!”

She isn’t just beauty and brawn – she’s got brains too. “I meditate for 20 minutes every morning and clear my mind with a two-mile run. Keeping my mind in top shape keeps me in a better place and I can focus on the other things, like jumping out of planes!”

Photography isn’t just a hobby for her – it’s where she got her name. Her parents are acclaimed photography teachers Charles William Bush and Maureen E Bush and ran a photography studio for celebrities, like actress Sophia Loren, who popped in for a shoot when Maureen was pregnant.

But unlike her namesake and idol, Sophia hasn’t been lucky in love. In 2005, Sophia married her One Tree Hill (2003-2012) co-star Chad Michael Murray and they divorced five months later. “It devastates me that I’ve been reduced to a Hollywood statistic – another joke marriage. I never expected to be married more than once… because I knew what I was getting into and will always believe in love.”

She supports a number of charities and the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, which supports the biodiversity of East Africa tribal lands.

And while she’s licensed to carry a concealed weapon, that may not help when she comes face-to-face with spiders. “You came in my house. You’re an intruder. Get out!” she laughs.
