Nothing seems to make sense for investigative journalist Mokgadi (Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila). Her gut is usually spot-on when it comes to getting to the bottom of the truth, but the arrival of her long lost 14-year-old son Noah (Tiisetso Mashala) has completely put her off balance. “It’s all a haze for Mokgadi. This boy’s stories are just not adding up,” says Pebetsi, while Mokgadi’s in-laws want to get to the bottom of Noah’s shady behaviour on Wednesday 25 October. “At first, Mokgadi was relieved that her search was over and all she wants to do is spend time with Noah. But everyone is telling her not to trust him because he seems mentally unstable and this whole situation is causing havoc among her loved ones,” adds Pebetsi.

MONSTER MOM

Like any concerned mom, Mokgadi’s meddling mother Mary (Motshabi Tyelele) is keeping an eye out for her daughter’s well-being. She thinks that Mokgadi is too involved with this “untruthful” boy and she schedules a secret meeting with Mokgadi’s hubby Leeto (Eric Macheru) on Thursday 26 October to help her get rid of Noah. “Leeto is shocked! He wants to know why Mary wants Noah gone, but like with everything else, she avoids the truth and tries to manipulate him with her scheming,” explains Pebetsi. Although Mary warned Mokgadi to let sleeping dogs lie and not make contact with Noah, Mokgadi has always wanted to make up for lost time with the son she gave up as a teen mom.

“Noah is Mokgadi’s weak point and it’s a scary position to be as she’s willing to give up everything for him,” explains the actress. Mokgadi stresses when Noah disappears in the company of local gangsters on Tuesday 31 October. “Mokgadi wants to help Noah but she feels like she’s dug a hole for herself. She was just getting used to being a mom and now she feels like everyone is right about this boy,” says Pebetsi.

TAILSPIN TRAGEDY

Mokgadi’s mom-in-law Meikie (Harriet Manamela) is on Mary’s tail on Thursday 2 November, thinking that Mary knows about Noah than she’s letting on – “and she’s right. Everyone suspects that Mary is the reason that Noah disappeared in the first place,” Pebetsi says. The cops find him on Friday 3 November and he’s up to no good. “It’s sad that Mokgadi is the one who will hurt when she discovers the truth behind his scams,” says Pebetsi.
