MaDlamini’s friendship with MaNzuza could ruin her marriage to Advocate Zulu.

Moving to KwaMashu started on a high note for MaDlamini (Zinzi Zungu). She’s part of the elite circle and her husband Advocate Zulu (Luthuli Dlamini) is one of the best lawyers in town, making them an “it” couple. “What matters most to MaDlamini is that she’s highly respected by her peers,” says Zinzi. MaDlamini is taking cues from her new bestie MaNzuza (Leleti Khumalo) who is everyone’s idea of the perfect wife. “MaNzuza has her life together: she’s got a beautiful house, she’s involved in the community and she is a pastor’s wife, which means that she has great family values – another thing that MaDlamini aspires to have,” adds Zinzi. But nobody is perfect and MaDlamini has no idea that MaNzuza has a crush on Advocate Zulu, even after the two ended their complicated romance in January when MaNzuza’s hubby Pastor Mdletshe (Glen Gabela) returned to town after a disappearing act. “MaDlamini has no idea. She’s so focused on being like MaNzuza that she doesn’t realise that her friend could snatch Advocate Zulu from under her nose,” Zinzi reveals.
BLINDSIDED
Old feelings creep up in MaZuza’s heart when MaDlamini starts raving about what a great hubby Advocate Zulu is on Wednesday 25 October. MaNzuza gets tense and recalls the time when she was his other half, but “MaDlamini is naïve to the little things. Although MaNzuza is uncomfortable and looks it, MaDlamini goes on about her great marriage without realising that it is sending chills down her friend’s spine,” says Zinzi. While Advocate Zulu and MaDlamini are still in the honeymoon stage of their marriage, he isn’t over MaNzuza and is trying to win her over on Thursday 26 October. But like the loyal wife that MaNzuza is, she fights her feelings and backs away from Zulu to make her marriage work. “As far as MaDlamini is concerned, she is the only woman who has been in a serious relationship with Advocate Zulu. They are great on paper and have a lot in common, but it’s obvious to everyone but her that his heart is MaNzuza’s instead,” adds the actress.
SECRET LOVE
MaDlamini sees no harm in inviting the Mdletshes over for dinner on Friday 27 October and “again, she’s oblivious to the tension in the room. It’s actually funny how she isn’t on the same page as everyone else,” laughs Zinzi. While MaNzuza is itching to pack her things and leave the house, MaDlamini talks about her travel adventures with her husband and the mood goes instantly awkward across the table. “Advocate Zulu didn’t tell MaDlamini about the history that he has with MaNzuza. If he did, they wouldn’t have moved to KwaMashu. MaDlamini is bubbly but don’t be fooled by her laugh, she’s also smart and if she knew about Advocate Zulu’s affair, she would’ve avoided it at all cost!” says Zinzi.
