Prison Break

Season 5 M-Net (*101) 19:00 Action

Rockmond Dunbar was nervous about reprising his role as C-Note in the season 5 reboot of Prison Break (2006-current) “because you never know how the audience will react. The show had been off air for nearly eight years and that is forever in TV time,” explains the 44-year-old Californian. Not that he’s been resting between seasons…

He’s had roles in 13 shows after 1

Prison Break “ended” in 2009, like Sheriff Eli in biker drama Sons Of Anarchy (2008-2014), FBI Agent Abbott in cop drama The Mentalist (2008-2015) and currently as Scotty in action show Scorpion (2015-current).

While acting is his job, Rockmond 2

uses it as a platform “to give back” and has featured in numerous public service productions, like 2012’s Saving Our Daughters “that inspire and educate the youth”.

He isn’t a military brat but jokes 3

that he knows what it feels like to move around. He grew up in Berkeley, California but his family “were nomadic and we moved every few years,” says Rockmond. He studied drama and graduated from both The College Of Santa Fe and The University Of New Mexico.

He married actress Maya Gilbert 4

(Juliet in action show Banshee, 2013-2016) in 2012 and a year later they had daughter Berkeley Seon, who the tough guy isn’t afraid to reveal “has me wrapped around her little finger”.

One of his craziest fan moments 5

was in 2008 when the ex president of Gambia Yahya Jammeh flew him out “for a chat. He was a fan and wanted to talk to me,” laughs the actor.

And while he doesn’t regret it, 6

he’s still sheepish about posing for Playgirl magazine in 2003.
