Zoe isn’t ready to give up her freedom for a baby just yet!

No one is quite prepared for the huge responsibly of becoming a parent and that’s something the career- driven Zoe (Lauren Joseph) hadn’t planned for just yet. But after her pregnancy test came back positive on Tuesday 31 July, it’s now her reality. Zoe’s boyfriend Wade (Dean John Smith) is overjoyed about being a father, but not Zoe, who’s now faced with making a difficult life decision.
A LOT TO PROCESS
Zoe’s got plans for her future and they don’t involve a baby right now. She wants to climb the corporate ladder at Suidooster Properties, where she is currently employed. “Suddenly her whole future looks a lot different to what she had imagined,” says Lauren. “She is confused, especially about how she feels about everything, it’s a lot for her to process.” But father-to-be Wade can’t contain his excitement on Friday 3 August and he’s ready to tell anyone who’ll listen. “He wants the share the news with everybody, but Zoe wants to keep it quiet – especially from her uncle Ian and aunt Bridgette October (Abduraghmaan Adams and Denise Newman),” says Dean. “Wade doesn’t understand why she wants to hide her pregnancy. Yes, it came as a shock, but you can’t handle a baby like it is a scandal. Wade believes that if Zoe tells the Octobers, they will give her nothing but support,” he adds.
MORAL SUPPORT
Zoe’s best friend Danni ( Vashti Prins) quizzes her on Monday 6 August about why she’s been so distant and distracted and in a moment of weakness, Zoe reveals her health situation. “Danni is stunned by the news,” reveals Lauren, “but she assures Zoe that she will help her get through this no matter what”. In the meantime, Wade starts planning his and Zoe’s future, but Zoe tries to stop him and the couple have an intense argument on Monday 6 August. “Wade struggles to understand why Zoe is so negative about what has happened to her and to them. He is ready to spend the rest of his life with her and the baby, but that future might just be too far out of reach,” explains Dean. Could this baby spell the end for the pair?
