Most of the dysfunctional Gallaghers have grown up in season 9 of dramedy Shameless (2011- current), but they’re no less trashy. “They still do the most outrageous things to survive,” explains series creator John Wells. “It’s incredible how they live and what they do. 1 Drama dad Frank (William H Macy) is exposed tonight in episode 1 as the source of an STD outbreak among the mothers at Liam’s (Christian Isaiah) private school. But even that isn’t enough to convince a now-sober Lip (Jeremy Allen White) that Gallaghers and parenting don’t go together. The younger kids aren’t doing any 2 better – Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is forced to face the consequences of his Gay Jesus Movement, while Debbie (Emma Kenney) is experimenting with her sexuality and using feminism as an excuse to wear adult nappies to work. Shameless has also prepared for 3 losing Emmy and Cameron by casting three well-known TV faces for new roles. Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller from biker drama Sons Of Anarchy, 2008-2014) joins as psych patient Ingrid. Bob Saget (Danny Tanner in Fuller House, 2016- current) will play Catholic priest Father D’Amico. And Courteney Cox (Monica in Friends, 1994-2004) is Lip’s new sober friend.
