No looking back
New bride Itumeleng is on a high and living her fairytale dream with dishy Zolani.
It’s a little more than a month since Itumeleng and Zolani (Larona Moagi and Lawrence Maleka) tied the knot and they’re feeling stronger than ever on Wednesday 5 December. “They’re still in the honeymoon phase,” says Larona with a giggle. “They act like lovestruck teenagers and they are cuddling non-stop – they’re in a good place,” adds the actress. Tumi still can’t believe she had her wedding – it was something out of a princess story. No expenses were sparred, thanks to endless funds from the groom’s family. Behind the scenes, the show commissioned real-life fashion icon Gert-Johan Coetzee to design Tumi’s wedding dress and he had a cameo during the dress fittings. “The funny part is that Tumi had never heard of Gert-Johan until her sister Dimpho (Matshepo Sekgopi) told her about him. She is still excited thinking about her wedding,” adds Larona.
Tumi’s ex-boyfriend Lindani (Lunga Shabalala) tried to stop the wedding. Did seeing him minutes before walking down the aisle bring back the feelings that she had for him? Of course. Lindani was her first love but it was a little too late when he realised his feelings for Tumi. She’s moved on with her life and a part of Tumi secretly enjoys the lavish life that comes with being Zolani’s wife, so she isn’t leaving him anytime soon. What did it take for her to fall for Zolani seeing that he wasn’t her first choice? It was hard for Tumi to accept her breakup with Lindani in June. She tried to fight for him even after learning that he has a love child. Tumi begged him to stay with her but he refused. Although Zolani was a rebound, he cares about her and treats her well. What would Tumi’s life look like had things worked out with Lindani? It would be totally different! She wouldn’t live in this mansion or drive fabulous cars. For the first time, Tumi doesn’t have to worry about money because it’s in abundance. Being with Lindani would have meant that she’d be living from hand to mouth, the exact life that she is running from. What are her dreams beyond the married life? She wants to study and earn her degree in mining engineering. She is determined to be as successful as Zolani’s adoptive mom Lindiwe (Sindi Dlathu) who owns a diamond mining company.
Zolani and Tumi are loving life as husband and wife, even if they’ve had hiccups.
