Moliehi can’t stomach the revelation that her dead husband might’ve had a secret lovechild.
If there’s one thing feisty businesswoman and strict mother Moliehi ( Vatiswa Ndara) isn’t fond of, it’s surprises. “She’s one of those women who believes everything should be in its place and everyone in her family accounted for,” explains Vatiswa. But they get the nastiest surprise on Friday 14 December when innocent, shy Gugu (Bukamina Cebekhulu) announces that she could be part of the Zikalala family. “That is insane!” exclaims Vatiswa. “Moli has two children: her daughter Thobile (Kertrice Maitisa) and stepson
Skhumbuzo (Thokozani Sithole). This girl’s claim doesn’t hold water.” But as Moli finds out on Monday 17 December, she doesn’t know everything about her husband Patrick’s shenanigans before he was murdered years ago.
TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
“This thing comes as an unexpected and especially nasty surprise,” explains Vatiswa. “Gugu and Skhumbuzo have become good friends, very close, so how will he feel if she is his blood?” Moliehi has kept an eagle eye on the pair since Friday 14 December and she doesn’t like the interactions. “What if this is true? Gugu could be Skhu’s sister. This isn’t right,” says Vatiswa ominously. Moli isn’t willing to just accept some girl’s words and she demands a DNA test on Monday 17 December. “That will prove without doubt that Gugu is lying,” adds the actress. But what if it doesn’t?
DADDY DEAREST
Gugu got a daddy heads up on Thursday 13 December from Moli’s former brother-in-law Eric (Dumisani Dlamini), who told her that she’s the product of Patrick’s one night stands. “The reason that Eric told her this is because he is still fighting Moli for his late brother’s money,” says Vatiswa. “Gugu being a long-lost daughter can help Eric get what he thinks he is due, what is left of Patrick’s money.” The promise of a small fortune is too good for Gugu to turn down and even if it’s a scam, she wants in. She wants a share of Moli’s business. For all of her protestations, there’s not a peep from Moli later on Monday 17 December, says Vatiswa. “She is stunned. The DNA test comes back. This is going to put pressure on the family. It isn’t going to work out for everyone. It’s a mess!”
