Fool me once…

Once bitten, twice shy, but Gloria seems to be buying into Pastor Samson’s patter – until he makes a fatal blunder.

TV Plus (South Africa) - - SCANDAL! -

Charismatic young Pastor Samson Ngema (Mpho Sibeko) got off on the wrong foot with Gloria (Marjorie Langa) on Friday 30 November. “Don’t overstep yourself regardless of who you are when it comes to Gloria,” warns Marjorie. “Do not invade her space. The first opinion that she has of Paster Samson is when he starts holding sermons at Safe N Clean during lunch hours. Gloria just wants to put her feet up and here is this guy taking up her time.” But when smoothtalking Samson started using some magic words, it smoothed things over and Gloria sat up and took note. “He talks success. He talks miracles, which is very enticing,” explains Marjorie. But Samson will unwittingly hit a wall on Wednesday 12 December when he sets his sights on Gloria’s “precious”.

EYES WIDE OPEN

Gloria is wide awake now when it comes to certain kinds of schemes, thanks to two separate walletemptying and hard-learnt lessons in 2018 alone. “She still wants to make a fast buck but she is very alert,” says Marjorie. And once Gloria has an idea of what Samson is after, she will realise to her horror that while she is too smart to be caught out, her friends can still easily be hoodwinked if you pop a bible over their eyes in just the right way. “Gloria is not the Hallelujah-type of person that her friends are. She is nonchalant about it and she will have no problem using it against you. But she will not attack your faith,” explains the actress. “What worries her is that she sees that this guy is convincing and he is a smooth-talker and everyone goes to his sermons. So she sees this guy as a threat when he encroaches on her territory.”

SAMSON vs GLORIA

Expect a battle of wits to play out in the week on Monday 17 December as cunning Gloria confronts Samson and sets out to drop a stumbling block in the road to his dreams. For once, perhaps friends should listen to what she has to say, because Stokkies (Jacobs Wayne van Rooyen) also smells a rat on Tuesday 11 December – but he doesn’t quite seem to have Gloria’s knack for handling Samson.

Gloria isn’t buying what Samson is selling. Pastor Samson is about to be on the backfoot.
