Nina plants a bomb and takes hostages: Wade and Zoe.
Nina (Charlene le Roux) has a new plan to protect Mother Earth: she is going to plant a bomb at Suidooster Properties’ new development site – Hamerkop Vlei. She wants to teach the property business and its owner
Ian October (Abduraghmaan Adams) a lesson because she believes that the development is harmful to nature. And when it seems like one of her own cronies Wade (Dean John Smith) is going to expose her, Nina chooses to silence him by force. But Wade isn’t the only person who will suffer Nina’s wrath.
FAILED PLAN
The radical eco-terrorist is halted in her tracks when an anonymous tip to the police stops her from planting the bomb on Wednesday 5 December to explode during a media conference. Nina thinks that Wade ratted her out and “she kidnaps him and holds him hostage,” explains Charlene. While Wade is locked up on a boat, things spiral out of control as Nina gets down to business. On Thursday 6 December, she bumps into Wade’s ex- girlfriend
Zoe (Lauren Joseph) and follows her, planning to kidnap Zoe that same day. Zoe works at Suidooster Properties with Ian and she is used as a pawn in Nina’s game to make Ian realise that she means business. Nina phones Ian on Friday 7 December and brags that she’s got Wade and Zoe and that they will only be released once her demands have been met. “She wants Ian to stop the Hamerkop Vlei project and donate the site to a conservation or it will be over for her hostages,” says Charlene, adding that Nina has planted a bomb on the boat that her hostages are being kept in and that it can be detonated on a whim.
Ian is seriously concerned for his employees’ lives and he does as he’s told, only to find out that Nina isn’t playing fair and she doesn’t release her hostages as promised. Ian tries to pressure Nina again on Monday 10 December to release Wade and Zoe but she merely lies to him about their location to send him on a wild goose chase. Meanwhile, Wade and Zoe are bonding in their desperate hour and rekindle their relationship later that day. They decide to forget about her problems and Zoe’s abortion in August that eventually led to their break-up as Wade desperately wanted her to keep the baby.
WILL THE BOMB GO BOOM?
The couple’s newfound love might be short-lived though. Fed up, Nina decides to activate the bomb on Tuesday 11 December. Dean says that it’s literally a case of life and death “and none of their lives will ever be the same again”. Ominous words… www.twitter.com/tvplus
