TV Plus (South Africa) - - BIG NEW -

The creators and producers of nerdy comedy The Big Bang Theory (2007current, see more on p53) are making sure that it goes out with a bang at the end of the current 12th season by linking it with current spin-off hit Young Sheldon (2017-current). Iain Armitage will pop up as a younger Sheldon in a flashback by Big Bang’s Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and he isn’t alone – Lance Barber and Montana Jordan will appear as their Young Sheldon characters, Sheldon’s dad George and older brother Georgie. The show hasn’t revealed which episode the flashback will be in and production companies CBS and Warner Bros are keeping mum too, but it’s going to be a wait – the episode films in April 2019 and should air in May. At the same time, Johnny Galecki (Leonard in Big Bang) has shot down other spin-off ideas, saying that “without Jim, it’s simply not happening”.

Young and older Sheldon will share a screen for the first time.
