ROYAL REVENGE

Evil twin twist to the assassination in Chief Azwindini’s house

-

The past has a nasty way of coming back to bite you when least expect it and it’s a personal attack on Azwindini (Gabriel Temudzani) on Wednesday 9 January. “He won’t see it coming,” explains Nat Ramabulana, whose character Tenda (Nat Ramabulana) hasn’t forgiven the chief for sleeping with his wife

Livhu (Anzani Tshivhase) in February 2018 despite Azwindini thinking that their issues are in the past. “This storyline has festered in Tenda for a year. He is distracted by his brother Tshamano’s (also played by Nat) release from prison on Monday 7 January for an undisclosed crime, but this is the beginning of a huge change.”

BROTHER, BROTHER

“Tshamano has been in jail for 10 years. He was soft-spoken and geeky but his time in prison has roughed him up and changed him into a dangerous man,” warns Nat. He is a loose cannon that even Tenda may not be able to control, adds the actor. “Tenda welcomes his brother with open arms and tells him everything that he’s missed while he was in prison, including the chief abus- ing his power to sleep with Livhuwani when he’s got multiple wives already. Without telling Tenda, Tshamano steals Tenda’s gun on Tuesday 8 January and goes in search of the royal house “for a chat with the chief,” reveals Nat.

DEATH OF A WARRIOR

Tshamano sneaks in on Wednesday 9 January and heads to the throne room, hoping to find the chief. Instead, he is discovered by Azwindini’s first-born son Mulondo (Ndamulelo Mbuwe) and that signals the end, explains Gabriel. “Mulondo confronts this stranger and in the struggle, the gun is fired and Mulondo lies slumped on the floor as Tshamano flees.” Azwindini is unaware of Tshamano’s existence, so when he finds Tenda’s gun on the floor beside his dead son, he immediately swears revenge. “Tenda is shocked. He didn’t tell his brother to do this; now Thathe will think that he is the killer,” explains Nat. Tenda lies low, making sure not to disrespect the mourning royals as they bury The Great Warthog Of Luonde (Mulondo’s royal title) on Friday 11 January, but how will he tell the chief that it was his evil twin? “That is such a far-fetched soap story but it’s actually true this time,” says Nat. But will the chief be willing to hear him out?
