Steffy throws her hubby Liam in front of the bus when her guilt weighs her down and she needs someone to blame.
Few Forresters are as dominant and intimidating as Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and she rolls over for no one. But she’s more aggressive and pushy than usual with her hubby Liam (Scott Clifton) from Tuesday 8 January, which Jacqueline tells us is a defence mechanism: “Steffy’s conscience is wreaking havoc on her. She always has control. But lately she has been eating herself from the inside.” And while she doesn’t say it outright, Steffy lays the blame entirely on Liam’s shoulders. He confessed on Friday 21 December that he kissed her business enemy Sally
Spectra (Courtney Hope) in mid December when they were trapped in the building that Liam’s dad
Bill (Don Diamont) had just blown up. So to her, everything is Liam’s fault and because of that, she can justify being short with him. “Steffy’s anger made her feel trapped and under that burden, she made a mistake – sleeping with Bill – that she has to live with,” explains Jacqueline.
Steffy is an adult who makes her own decisions, so why blame Liam?
If it wasn’t for him kissing Sally, she would never have jumped in the sack with Bill. She holds Liam accountable for that “mishap”. Viewers must remember that when Liam told Steffy what happened [with Sally], she was beyond betrayed, hurt and filled with pure rage. This redhead [Sally] really is Steffy’s worst enemy!
How long will he tolerate her onslaught?
Liam tries to appease her. He softens her blows by acknowledging that it is his fault. He grovels for forgiveness, telling Steffy that he doesn’t deserve it because he betrayed her. She knows that what she is doing is wrong but she has a darker secret [sleeping with his dad] that she has to keep from Liam.
How will that affect their marriage if it comes out?
Liam is a devoted husband and yes, he kissed Sally, but will he be able to survive this betrayal from his wife and own father? I’m not sure. While Steffy is taking out her frustrations on Liam, she is desperate to keep this mistake from him. She doesn’t want to burden him with that secret.
