TV to the max!

We have 2019 reasons to put Showmax on your must-have list for the new year.

-

2019 promises romance, drama, action, excitement and adventure. It’s an election year and we vote for more TV on our own terms – what we want to see, when we want to see it and as many episodes and movies as we can physically cram into one sitting. Streaming service Showmax has put control back in our remote control and they’ve packed the first quarter of 2019 with everything from exclusive local productions, to first-run series and express-from-TV episodes. We’ll be watching for some of the following highlights as the TV year gets going…

SHOWMAX EXCLUSIVE

New HBO series Sally4Ever (2018- current) from British writer- creator Julia Davis (Camping, 2016) has an all-star cast including Julian Barratt (Howard in The Mighty Boosh, 2003-2007) and Mark Gatiss (Mycroft in Sherlock, 2010- current). It’s one of those ratheryou-than-me comedies about terrible people that takes viewers into the excruciating misadventures of office drudge Sally (Catherine Shepherd). She is engaged to her long-time boyfriend David (Alex Macqueen) – a bald, beige little man who squelchily moisturises his feet in bed… but then Sally falls head-over-heels for attractive human wrecking ball Emma (Julia Davis). It’s demented, perverse and gleefully spotlights bodily malfunctions that even pornography would modestly cover up. Watch with a friend so that you can shriek and clutch at each other when humour and social horror collide. Appallingly funny.
