Missy Peregrym has beauty pageant good looks but playing Special Agent Maggie Bell in action series FBI (2018current) is hands- down her favourite role, reveals the 36-year- old Canadian. “I love massages, I get a full body once a month… but I grew up as a tomboy and the stunt work on this show, the action and the bumps and bruises are so much fun! It’s like being a kid again.”

Her real name is Melissa and her stage name is the nickname that her housewife mom Vanessa gave her: “She’d ask me, ‘And where have you been, Missy?’ when I’d come home covered in mud and dirt,” says Missy. She played first-team field hockey, soccer and lacrosse and practiced with the boys because they didn’t treat her like a girl – “They hit hard but that was part of the fun,” adds the actress. She’s single and admits that she’s got a rocky track record with love. She dated little-known producer Brendan Countee (2005-2006), followed by disgraced NFL star Ben Roethlisberger from 2007 to 2008. Missy then married Zachary Levi (Chuck in action comedy Chuck, 2007-2012) in June 2014 after 18 months of dating but divorced in April 2015. She has used guns since childhood (air rifles and BB guns) and needed minimal training for her role as Officer Andy in cop drama Rookie Blue (20102015). She also goes to shooting ranges regularly when she has free time. Missy doesn’t own a gun though and says that the most dangerous weapons in her New York home are a pair of knitting needles. “It’s a great hobby, especially during flights – I’m great at baby blankets,” she jokes.
