Tenda’s warrior princess

Sundani will do anything to protect her new lover, even turn her back on her royal family.

-

A clash of kings is heading towards Thathe as Chief Azwindini (Gabriel Temudzani) and Mulalo (Sydney Ramakuela) sharpen their spears. They want revenge on mayor Tenda (Nat Ramabulana) after his ex- convict brother Tshamano (also plays by Nat) killed the chief’s eldest son Mulondo (Ndamulelo Mbuwe) early in January. The pair don’t think that anything will stand in their way, which is why they’re surprised when rebellious princess Sundani (Charlotte Mulaudzi) blocks their path. “She is a raging buffalo like Azwindini and he will certainly meet his match when he messes with her boyfriend Tenda,” says Charlotte with a giggle.

UNHAND MY MAN

Sundani knows how far Azwindini will go and while actual weapons are out of the question, the chief has another type of attack: he’s going to slam Tenda on social media, explains Charlotte. “They choose this softer approach to deal with their enemy. They can manipulate things online and want to paint Tenda as power-hungry and greedy and dangerous to the kingdom.” Sundani has been around long enough to know how to eavesdrop in the royal house without being caught and she discovers the plot, sending her running to Tenda so that they can prepare a counter-attack. She is going to be Tenda’s publicist, reveals Charlotte, adding that “she is going to send a clear message to Azwindini and his allies: stay clear of Tenda”.

HOT & STEAMY

But sticking up for Tenda will pit Sundani against the royal house. “They will do damage control and pretend that she isn’t a threat,” explains Charlotte. And she isn’t afraid of the chief, even when he confronts her for betrayal. “She has no fear. His threats to kick her out is a lost whiff of air to her – nothing.” Good thing for Tenda that his lover Sundani has thick skin, because Azwindini is going to come back time and again to get what he wants.
