Cruel crocodile tears

Bill Spencer shows his softer side, but only for a second.

Business baddie Bill (Don Diamont) has been on red alert after his son

Liam (Scott Clifton) found out that Bill was the other guy who slept with his wife Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) late last year. “Bill is very much aware that Liam will come for him,” confesses Don. “He is patiently waiting for his son to storm into his office, demanding answers with his fists flying.” And when Liam does come knocking, there won’t be their usual exchange of harsh words, instead it will be physical with the father and son going punch for punch. Bill shows zero remorse when Liam leaves after their tussle, but it’s a different story when he’s confronted by his younger son Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and ex-wife

Katie (Heather Tom) later. “Let’s get one thing right: it isn’t in Bill’s DNA to feel bad or cry about anything. But with Wyatt and Katie lashing out at him, in that second there is a slight feeling of remorse. He feels terrible that he hurt his son, but that is a fleeting moment with worse to come,” adds Don.

HOW LOW CAN HE REALLY GO?

While sleeping with his daughter-inlaw is shocking, Bill is ready to sink to all-new lows that no one could’ve expected. “Bill genuinely loves Steffy,” says Don. Bill wanted the Spectra Building and he took it by demolishing it. Now that Liam’s ex-wife Hope (Annika Noelle) is back in town, Bill wants Steffy and he has the perfect stick of dynamite to blow up his son’s marriage and take what he wants again. “There was passion when they slept together [in December]. They weren’t drunk. He didn’t force himself on her. There was mutual attraction. Now Bill wants Steffy for himself,” says Don.

HOPE-FULL

Bill’s scheme hinges on Hope still having feelings for Liam, which he plans to exploit to re-unite the divorced pair. “He hopes that this will remind Liam of the chemistry he had with his first wife and do something silly while he’s in this horrible space,” says Don. If one thing leads to another, Liam and Hope end up in bed, Steffy finds out and ends her marriage. Bill may just be the most evil character on TV, but as Don says, “It isn’t in his DNA to be nice.”
