A deadly web of lies
Moliehi pulls out all her dirty tricks to keep her want-away hubby James in line while scaring off his lover Marang.
When Moliehi (Vatiswa Ndara) suffered a heart attack in April, everyone thought this is it: the iron lady of Thathe is knocking on death’s door. Her recovery was swift and her doctors discharged her quickly – much to Moli’s dismay. But nothing is stopping her from pretending that she is one shock away from another heart attack if that’s what it takes to keep her husband James (Dingaan Mokebe) at her side. “She plays the victim and fakes her health issues because she is still trying to win back James, who has filed for divorce and is dating her secretary Marang (Sharon Seno),” says Vatiswa. But Moliehi’s plan may blow up in her face.
DROP THE ACT
Moli knows that she’s got to watch her step as James is already suspicious of her illness. He isn’t convinced that she is sick. Ever since her release from hospital, he has caught glimpses of her behaving normal rather than a suffering, ailing patient. “James thinks that his wife is up to something but he isn’t sure what,” says Dingaan. Moli’s ruthless business partner KK (Macdonald Ndou) also sees Moli dropping the act for a few seconds when they meet to talk business. “KK knows her well. She is as sly as he is. He knows that there is something more to her health issues than meet the eye,” says Macdonald. Confronted with KK’s suspicion, Moli confesses that she’s been faking it in an attempt to get James to stop his affair with Marang. “KK comes up with a devilish plan. He will play along because he wants Marang for himself. He will put pressure on James to be a real husband and support his ailing wife Moliehi and forget about his affair with Marang.”
BUSTED
Moli calls a board meeting and feigns illness in the hopes of winning sympathy from the other members – she needs their approval for her new business venture with KK. But James is also attending and when she shows her real health condition, even for a second, he jumps up and screams that she’s faking everything! “He loses his cool and physically attacks her. Security are called to stop the brawl and Moli tells them that James wanted to kill her,” says Dingaan. Of course this isn’t true, but Moli’s actions prove to James that she is a worthy adversary and won’t accept an easy divorce. It’s only a matter of time before Moli strikes at James and Marang with deadly force.
